Our bulk Chinese herbs are mostly wild harvested but some herbs are farm grown to protect their natural habitats
and meet increasing market demands.
The harvests of right species at proper maturity are identified by experienced professionals, cleaned, cut or sliced, and dried.
In many cases, special processing methods such as soaking with rice wine, steaming, roasting
are applied as mandated by traditional Chinese medicine traditions to prepare the Chinese herbs to achieve desired properties,
enhance efficacy, and reduce toxicity.
*Dang Shen concentrated extract powder we sell is from Treasure of the East brand,
whose producer has pioneered the research and manufacture of herbal extracts since early 1990 and is the top market leader
of the field in the world. The herbal extracts are guaranteed to recapture the active ingredients in the raw herbs with
added benefits of batch to batch consistency in quality, purity, and convenience in use. To make the extracts,
high quality raw herbs are first water extracted according to traditional Chinese medicine traditions,
the extracted liquids are concentrated and then spray-dried to form fine powder and extract granules at low temperature.
The extraction procedure has been studied and optimized for each individual herb based on its unique properties
to maximize the recovery of its active ingredients. Strict quality controls are implemented from the sourcing of bulk herbs to
the finished granules in compliance with the cGMP certification.
Each batch of herbal granules are tested for heavy metals and microbes.
