super fresh
The astragalus I received was very fresh and cut into a size perfect for making a decoction. I've purchased a lot of bulk astragalus over the years from Amazon or Ebay and this one is noticeably the freshest I've purchased. I find astragalus and schizandra to be a very effective combination for liver problems.

The Great Protector!!
I love this product as and immune boosting tonic especially for its wei chi protective energy. I use it in my tonic formulations and in general cooking. Soups, stews, cooking rice etc. Get creative. I have had other products that do not smell as fragrant so I was quite pleased when opened the bag of these slices!!

Not very fresh
I bought a lot of herbs from Active Herb and gave them all 5 star.They are all good quality. I bought this herb even I have 1 bag from elsewhere because I trust the quality. However when I open the bag, it smells not very fresh. I think it is because the herb from this site don't contain sulfa so it is easy to be oxidized. It's such a pity.

Been using this for years on my tea
Been using Astragalus root for years now. And I also use it for my patient. Being an herbalist, I use Astragalus root in a lot of health issues. Very good herb.
