What does it do?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Heart controls the Blood and stores Shen (the Spirit), and the Spleen absorbs the nutrients from food and transports them to the Blood. When the Heart function is weak, one may develop signs that include Blood deficiency, poor sleep, mental fogginess, and a pale complexion. When the Spleen function is weak, digestion is impaired, and consequently, the Blood is not well nourished and may not hold well in the blood vessels.

Gui Pi Pian (Wan) strengthens the Spleen and the Heart, nourishes Blood and Qi, and calms the mind.† How it acts in modern biochemical terms is not yet understood. Gui Pi Wan has been indicated in China Pharmacopoeia for use in the case of Heart and Spleen deficiency, whose presentation may include these several characteristic signs: 1. trouble in staying focused and easily forgetting what is learned; 2. not falling asleep easily; 3. lack of energy with a pale face; 4. loss of appetite. This TCM pattern of deficiency is often observed in those who study hard (students) or overwork and feel overwhelmed.

I'm pretty healthy already so not totally surprized. Pros of this product: I've assumed as it is not listed in ingredients, that this is one of the few chinese herbs that DOES NOT contain Talc. Talc is a known carcinogen and often can cause cancerous effects depending on what type/quality of Talc they use. As China is not regulated for this.... etc...

I note that my digestion has improved and that my cycle isn't so debilitatingly heavy. I also notice that I am feeling a bit calmer and sleeping a bit better. I've only been taking it about six weeks. My previous experience has been that TCM tonics can take time before one experiences the full effect. I take 6 of the tablets, twice a day on an empty stomach. I will continue through my fourth bottle and reassess. So far, so good.

Guang Ci Tang's Gui Pi Pian is the best one I can take for that purpose. I did try other brands but I don't feel good for it. So I will stick with Guang Ci Tang herbals.

    My herbalist has always directed me to take the Pian but you are out of stock right now.  Can i take the Wan?  I don’t understand the difference.

    Everybody loves your products. Some people say that as soon as they stop taking them, the symptoms are back. My question is: are these formulas only treating symptoms then and not healing the underlying conditions?

    Hi, Thanks for the question. The formulas do work to restore the underlying balances of various kinds. Even you quickly feel the noticeable change but often times you still need to take a longer period for a complete restoration.

    I'm currently taking yinvive and hawthopower.  I would like to take spiritcalm and spleenvive in addition to the ones I'm taking now.  Would it be safe to take these four formulas at the same time?  I'm not on any medications.  Thank you.

    I am taking a kidney supplement and a liver supplement. Does this interact with any specific herbs that I should be aware of? The ingredients are too long for me to paste in my question. I would like to start taking but I need to know if I should wait.
