在中医里，云南白药化瘀止血、活血止痛、解毒消肿。研究表明，云南白药缩短出血时间和凝血时间。

在中国，医生也让病人在手术前（0-5日）服用云南白药，因为研究发现云南白药能够减少手术过程中的出血量。^1,2 手术后服用云南白药，可以促进伤口愈合。

What is the difference between Yunnan Baiyao and Yunnan Baiyao Jiaonang?

Is it recommended to take Yunnan Baiyao every day? I have read it is best taken with "off" days so the liver does not get congested. Some people recommend 5 days on/2 days off and others say 4 days on/4 days off. This is for a pet with cancer. Thank you!

My dog has Hemangiosarcoma bleeding spleen cancer. He is 26 lbs and a Boston Terrier. How long can I give him this? The vet removed/drained 2.8 lbs of blood fluid from his abdomen today. I am praying this will help. Thank you

My Yunnan from Chinese local pharmacy is blue and has: Notiginseng Radix Et Rhizoma, Borneolum Syntheticum, Dioscoreae Nipponicae Rhizoma, Dioscoreae Rhizoma and Erodii Herbs and Geranii Herbs, etc. all gms are in Chinese so no clue how much of each.

What would the typical dosage be for an 80 lb dog? Also, would the pill be given with food? I am asking about the food because I see that the instructions say to avoid eating meat at the same time as taking the pills and dog food has meat in it.
