    What does it do?

Despite advances in biomedical research, effective treatments for the common cold are still rare. The common cold is so common that it is a leading cause for doctor visits and missed days from school and work. The common cold medicines are not antiviral and just serve to relieve the cold symptoms.

From the perspective of traditonal Chinese medicine (TCM), colds are invasions of pathogenic influences (evil or toxins). The invasion starts at the surface but proceeds to the interior of the body if it is not halted. A common sign indicating the start of a cold is a sore throat. The body then develops running nose, nasal congestion, headache, fever, and cough as symptoms. Along the process, our body's immune system is mobilized to fight the infection and eventually wins the battle.

Many Chinese herbs and their combinations are shown helpful in relieving the body from the pathegenic invasions in the term of TCM. For example, At the first sign of a cold, taking Cold Signoff™ (Yin Qiao Jie Du Pian) may halt the pathegenic invasion from further penetrating into the body. However, if the invasion has progressed into later stages, Cold Signoff™ may not be strong enough. Here is when Coldclear™ fits in.

Coldclear™ is a Guang Ci Tang signature formula designed to help boost our immune function when our body already feels like it is rundown. It is composed of Chinese herbs that are the best known and the most potent in TCM to clear heat and resolve toxicity.

In the formula, Jin Yin Hua (Honeysuckle flower) and Lian Qiao (Forsythia fruit) are a famous pair of Chinese herbs that act together to relieve the exterior of the body from pathogenic invasion, clear heat, and remove toxic substances; Huang Qin (Scutellaria) is a key Chinese herb for clearing heat and draining fire. It works the best when the heat is in the upper respiratory track and the fire is in the lung.

Ban Lan Gen (Isatidis root) and Da Qing Ye (Isatidis leaf) are two other well known Chinese herbs for their detoxifying and heat-draining properties. Their addition to Coldclear™ further enhances the formula's action to remove toxins.

Also included in Coldclear™ are Jie Geng (Platycodon root), a Chinese herb that ventilates the lung and clears phlegm and can be used for coughs caused by various reasons, and Qiang Huo (Notopterygium), which releases the exterior, disperses Cold, and dispel Wind.

    Does Research Support Coldclear™?

The first three Chinese herbs, Honeysuckle flower, Forsythia fruit, and Scutellaria, in Coldclear form themselves the formula in the name of Shuang Huang Lian. In laboratory studies, these herbs are shown to inhibit the growth of a wide spectrum of bacteria and viruses. In one randomized controlled study1, Shuang Huang Lian was used to treat 136 patients who developed in the past 48 hours the common cold of wind-heat type with symptoms shown as fever (less than 38.5℃), congestion, sore throat, and stuffy nose between the age of 18 to 65. After 3 days of treatment, cold symptoms are either disappeared or significantly improved in 90.5% of patients.

Coldclear™ (Zhong Gan Qing Pian) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magical I bought Coldclear for a friend of mine who had flu like symptoms so severe that I was really worried. Her doctor said it was not the flu and prescribed the ubiquitous antibiotics which she turned down. Then, her husband started getting the telltale signs of a forthcoming cold . They bought took Coldclear and after a couple of days, his symptoms had all cleared up, and she was feeling so much better they went out to eat one evening. It still took a good week for her to fully recover. They said it was magical and would make sure to always have some on hand and would recommend the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stops a nasty cold in its tracks! I keep a bottle of Coldclear on hand in case I run out of Cold Signoff. Last week I caught a nasty cold after overdoing it with yard work in wet, wintry weather. I had just run out of Cold Signoff and used Coldclear for the first time ever. Usually when I get a cold like this after overdoing it physically I'll have a cold for a week followed by sinus issues for another two weeks. After two of the recommended doses (half a day) all of my cold symptoms were muted to the point I almost forgot I had a cold. I'm amazed at how quickly Coldclear took care of my cold. Those must be powerful herbs!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Anti-viral I'm trying to avoid flu this season... I believe the cold temps coming up from lower elevation change microflora; livestock and swine cultures are allowed to flourish. I started taking this formula, and augmented it with jade screen (defender) for its long-term use. Along with goji (wolf) berries, and candied ginger stem I feel pretty good. Occasionally I'll decoct lingzhi, elderberries, etc...but the ease and reliably of slow and steady intake of quality herbs is provided in this product; for that I say om, shanti, om! Oh, did I mention product dosage can be doubled it needed, also tablet can be crushed and dissolved as tea to facilitate rapid assimilation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always keep it in stock at our house We always stock up on Signoff as the first line of defense and ColdClear for when the cold is inevitable. Highly recommend both herbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product I bought this product as I don't want to take cold medicine over the counter which has side effect causing drowsiness. I don't expect it's going to be relieved cold symptoms as quick as western medicine. However, to my surprise, when I double up the dozen and took twice daily. I can recover within 2 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great success using at first signs of cold I've been using this formula for last few years with great success. I have asthma and when I am exposed to cold or flu virus I always come down with a bad case and need medications. If I start this formula at first signs I often can bypass or minimize a cold. Wouldn't be without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always keep on hand We started using this last fall when I had a reaction to some antibiotics. My illness cleared up and when the rest of my family got sick over the cold and flu season, they used this to help and it sure did!! If cold signoff is too late to the party, give this coldclear a try!
