    What does it do?

    Helps You Breathe Easier

You could be standing in the most verdant, oxygen-rich lush rainforest on Earth. But when you can't breath deeply, you may as well be trapped in a coffin because you feel like you're suffocating. It's an awful feeling, one that you can't wait to be rid of. Unfortunately, heavy congestion and phlegm can keep you off balance for several days or even weeks at a time. And when you're short of breath, you can't exercise, much less concentrate for several hours at a time at work. All you want to do is lay in bed; if only you had that luxury.

To overcome heavy congestion and cough, most people turn to over-the-counter cold remedies or medications. However, if you're seeking an herbal alternative, Breathmooth™ is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) remedy that may help open the airways so you can breathe more effortlessly and smoothly.

Signature formula improves upon classic TCM cough remedy

If you're not an expert in TCM, finding the appropriate formula for symptoms related to colds can be challenging. That's because in TCM, there are several different cold types. Breathmooth may be especially beneficial for the type of cough known in TCM as wind-cold, which can manifest with wheezing and obstructive phlegm.

Breathmooth may help if you have a lingering cough caused by a cold and if you have one or more of the following symptoms: shortness of breath; rapid breathing; a rattling cough; a desire to spit when coughing; a heavy chest and body.

Breathmooth is our signature formula that builds upon several classical formulas for coughs and colds. The intention of the formula is to alleviate any cough type that presents with white or clear phlegm and shortness of breath.

    How does Breathmooth work?

Breathmooth transforms and/or dispels Phlegm as well as Wind. Breathmooth also may offer relief because of its ability to diffuse Lung Qi.

Jie Geng (Platycodon Root) ventilates the Lungs and dispels phlegm. Bai Qian (Cynanchum) descends Qi and expels phlegm. Qian Hu (Hogfennel Root) disperses wind, clears heat, directs Qi downward and transforms phlegm. Bai Bu (Stemona Root) moistens the Lungs and moves Qi downward and stops coughing. Jing Jie (Schizonepeta Herb) releases the exterior and disperses wind. Jiang Ban Xia (Pinellia) dries dampness and transforms phlegm. Bei Mu (Thunberg Fritillary Bulb) clears heat, transforms phlegm and stops coughing. Fang Feng (Siler Root) releases the exterior and dispels wind and dismisses dampness.

Sang Bai Pi (Mulberry Root Bark) drains the Lungs and is one of the most commonly used TCM herbs for calming wheezing. Bai Gao (Ginkgo Nut) also is a famous TCM herb for stopping wheezing because it astringes the Lungs and expels Phlegm. Zi Su Zi (Perilla seed) also stops wheezing by redirecting rebellious Lung Qi downward. In addition, it dissolves phlegm to stop coughing. The last herb in the formula, Ting Li Zi (Lepidium Seed), also calms wheezing by draining the Lungs.

    Does Research Support Breathmooth?

A TCM formula that includes 6 Chinese herbs used in Breathmooth (Jie Geng, Jing Jie, Bai Bu, Fang Feng, Bei Mu and Bai Qian) was well-tolerated and appeared to have benefits in the treatment of cough in a Hong Kong randomised double-blinded placebo-controlled trial.1. A meta analysis of Zhi Sou San, a popular Chinese herbal remedy for cough, concludes the remedy offers significant benefits in treating cough. Compared with Western medicine, it significantly improved the total effective rate, the pulmonary function in terms of FEV1, decreased the adverse reactions, and the recurrence rate. However, there was no significant additional improvement in the cough symptom score in the comparison. Four of the seven herbs (Jie Geng, Jing Jie, Bai Bu and Bai Qian) in Zhi Sou San are a part of Breathmooth. 2

Breathmooth™ (Ke Chuan Pian) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miracle! I originally was given this remedy by the acupuncturist I was seeing. It arrested congestion and cough that usually results in bronchitis or pneumonia and weeks of medications and missed work. I use it when I feel I am getting ill with tightness and cough. It may not prevent it 100% of the time but it shorten the time I am sick and relieves the cough and congestion. I have offered it to family and friends and they are amazed at the great results too. I try to always have this along with Cold Signoff and Coughoff in my house!
